Doris & Don Fisher co-founded Gap Foundation in 1977. Even before the first Gap store opened in 1969, both Doris and Don were dedicated volunteers and active philanthropists. Their legacy of giving lives on today through 135,000 employees around the world who give their time and talent to the communities where we live and work. Doris remains an active member of the Gap Foundation Board of Trustees.
The leaders that serve on the Gap Foundation Board of Trustees come from all across our company and around the world. In their “day jobs” they focus on very different areas of our business. From heading up finance or one of our brands to overseeing our sourcing decisions, their areas of expertise bring fresh ideas and perspectives to our Foundation’s strategy.
Even with their different responsibilities and experience, they share a common belief: our business has the power to unlock new possibilities in our communities. And, they inspire all of us – at our company and in our community – to reach our full potential.

President, Gap Foundation and SVP, Global Sustainability, Gap Inc.
I’m passionate about equality in every form. I’m glad to work for a company that embodies that value every day, from the day Doris and Don started on Ocean Drive, to every day I have the privilege to serve at Gap Inc.”

SVP, Loss Prevention, Gap Inc.
I think volunteering has a connotation that it's extra, that it's not a part of your normal routine — it's what you do when you have extra time, extra energy. But for me, it's essential to share my gifts and talents with people and in places that wouldn't ordinarily have access to it.”
Gap Foundation & Global Sustainability Board Member
I am proud to see the profound impact Gap Inc. has had on the women and youth of the world through the P.A.C.E. and This Way Ahead programs. Experiencing the power of these programs has been life-changing and influenced the work that I do as an educator.”

As a board member of the Marin Headlands Center for the Arts, an artist in residence program in a national park setting, I’m passionate about the outdoors, our environment, children and the arts. I’m proud of the work we do with Gap Foundation to support sustainability and children’s lives.”
President and CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, Athleta
One of the things I love most about Gap Inc. is the heart and soul of our culture and our values of doing what is right and giving back to the community. I remember back in 1986, when I started working here as a merchandising trainee, how special it was that the company matched our donations and time to support the organizations that we each individually chose to contribute to in our communities. Whether it was serving lunch at Glide Memorial, or serving on the Women's Initiative nonprofit board, I am grateful that the foundation helped encourage and multiply my impact.”
It is a humbling experience to see the difference Gap Foundation has been able to achieve. The programs that they support have made a profound impact and continue to do great work both locally and around the world.”
PRESIDENT AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, OLD NAVY
A majority of our 2 million factory and mill garment workers are women. We consider these women as a part of our Gap family, and I’m so proud of the work we’ve done to help improve their lives through our P.A.C.E program. I’m deeply committed to having a positive impact in the communities across the globe where we manufacture our product.”
EVP and CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER, Gap Inc.
It is so energizing to be associated with a company that literally is changing the world. The reach of the Gap Foundation is remarkable and its ability to impact individuals and communities around the globe can be transformational.”
EVP, PRODUCT DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT, GAP
It's a privilege to work for a company so committed to making the communities where we do business a better place. Programs such as P.A.C.E. are life changing for women and it's an honor be given the opportunity to join the Gap Foundation and be a part of such important work.”
